About Me
Hi!!! lol Welllllll... My Name is Amoni Wilds aka DJ Moni J ...I've loved music since I was 3-4 years old, old enough to sing and remember songs. My mother put me on EARLY with older songs/artists ..such as Phyllis Hyman, Sam Cooke, Luther Vandross, Surface and Anita Baker etc. And it stuck with me ! I enjoy different types of sounds, instruments and vocals ...certain songs can take you to a place and make you feel like time stood still.
Growing up, there wasn't really any chance/time to "dream" it was more of a NEED of concrete answer on what I wanted to do with my life/start making money and I didn't have a clue or even how to start ! lol Which scared me and prolonged what I needed to do .
But I made a commitment in Oct. 2019 to give this DJing thing a try and if it doesn't work...HEY! Atleast, i tried and I won't regret it at all!
So I hope you enjoy my mixes and join me on this journey because this story is still being written !

What motivated you to start your craft?: The pandemic(COVID-19) lol And also I was working for a company-management had different views for the company, I just couldn't stomach it anymore.
What inspires you to create?: My family, them seeing me doing what i love doing and supporting me, my niece I think she'll follow in my footsteps she loves music lol
Do you like social media? : Yes, i do ! I enjoy creating and making old/new things pop and seeing what I could do with it!
Do you feel underrated or overlooked? Why?: NO to both questions lol ...I don’t feel either...because I'm still building and making mark as an upcoming DJ !
Is confidence the key to being successful?: It definitely plays a role.... Because you have to believe in yourself and know you can do what you were mean to do etc
Is it hard to keep going when no money is coming in?: No because regardless you'll find away to make ends meet. Now is it the money that I prefer ??noooo...but ill get there someday ! lol
Based on your experiences, what's some advice that you'd give to someone that you wish you knew sooner?: I wish I would have taken myself more seriously at an earlier age... and actually pursing one of my passions!
How long have been working on your craft?: All my life, honestly lol...but Technically since Oct. of 2019
What's a negative stigma about your genre that you hear a lot? : Ummmm...I wouldn't say negative because I can listen to it all..I have an old soul...so I wouldn't say anything negative just opinions lol
What are your favorite genres of music?: RnB, Gospel, Hip-hop, Soul, Ol school HipHop and Rnb
What music artist(s) inspired you to create music?: Pharrell, Mary J Blige, Swizz Beatz, and Missy Elliot
